Symptoms Of Hemorrhoids May Include

  • Bleeding after passing a stool - the blood is usually bright red
  • Soreness, redness and swelling around your anus
  • Itchy bottom and a mucus discharge after passing a stool. Plump hanging down outside of the anus, which may need to be pushed back in after passing a stool.

Signs and symptoms of an anal fissure include

  • Pain, sometimes severe, during bowel movements which may last up to several hours
  • Bright red blood on the stool or toilet paper after a bowel movement
  • Itching or irritation around the anus or a visible crack in the skin around the anus.

Hemorrhoids aren't usually painful, unless their blood supply slows down or is interrupted. The exact cause of hemorrhoids is unclear, but they're associated with increased pressure in the blood vessels in and around the anus. This pressure can cause the blood vessels in back passage to become swollen and inflamed.

Many cases are thought to be caused by too much straining on the toilet as a result of prolonged constipation. This is often caused by a lack of fibre in a person's diet.

Other factors that might increase risk of developing hemorrhoids include

  • Being overweight or obese
  • Age – as one gets older, body's supporting tissues get weaker, increasing risk of hemorrhoids
  • Being pregnant – this can place increased pressure on pelvic blood vessels, causing them to enlarge
  • Having a family history of hemorrhoids
  • Regularly lifting heavy objects
  • A persistent cough or repeated vomiting

Making lifestyle changes to reduce the strain on the blood vessels in and around anus is often recommended.

These can include

  • Gradually increasing the amount of fibre in diet: good sources of fibre include fruit, vegetables, wholegrain rice, wholewheat pasta and bread, pulses and beans, seeds, nuts and oats
  • Drinking plenty of fluid: particularly water, but avoiding or cutting down on caffeine and alcohol
  • Not delaying going to the toilet: ignoring the urge to empty  bowels can make stools harder and drier, which can lead to straining
  • Avoiding medication that causes constipation: such as painkillers that contain codeine
  • Losing weight: if one is overweight
  • Exercising regularly: this can help prevent constipation, reduce  blood pressure, and help you lose weight.
  • Pilgo Plus is a combo back with a set of Pilgo Tablets and #B 9 drops to ease symptoms of painful hemorrhoids and anal fissures, regularising bowel habits and preventing recurrence

The individual components have been clinically proved to be useful in the following conditions

  • Ratanhia: Anus aches and burns for hours after stool. Aches as if full of broken glass. Protrusion of  piles. Fissures of anus. Pin worms and itching of anus.
  • Hamamelis virginica: Piles bleeding profusely with soreness of anus.
  • Aesculus hippocastanum: Rectum feels as if full of small sticks. Piles, blind or bleeding with sharp shooting pain up the back, Worse during climacteric. Irritation of anus by ascarides.
  • Aloe socotrina: Haemorrhoids protrude like grapes, very sore and tender, better by cold application. Burning in anus and rectum, constipation.
