Bakson's Crataegus Oxyacantha is a homoeopathic aid which is chiefly used as a heart tonic and acts on the heart muscles. It is indicated in cardiac-hemorrhagic or lithemic cases, in hypertension, arteriosclerosis, dyspnoea and dropsy. Symptoms include weakness and exhaustion with sudden weakness sometimes. It acts as a sedative in cross, irritable patients with cardiac symptoms. In cases of arteriosclerosis, it is known to have a solvent power upon crustaceous and calcareous deposits in arteries. When the heart is weakened from acute infectious diseases, Crataegus helps to sustain it without interfering with the main course of treatment. It is effective for blood sugar levels, especially in children and fatty degeneration of the heart and aortic diseases.
