It has a bitter taste with unctuous, oily and viscous properties. Acharya charak classified it as one of the best Medhya rasayan in their text due to its sheeta veerya and assists in managing Pitta and kapha dosha. Shankhpushpi is medhya, rasayanam, kasajit, Chardihara, vrushya, manasarogahrut, kantida and sara, thus aids in managing good neurological health.
